RESYNC TO THE STORIES OF HERE AND NOW
RESYNC is a 12-week hybrid documentary filmmaking program. During June–September of this year, 65 participants from across the globe came together to create documentary films in their own locations, in teams of 3, while going under the same rigorous process of learning online, together. The first run of the program culminated in 4 different private screenings (Online, Manila, Phnom Penh, and Tokyo) on September 11, 2022.
The questions given to the program participants as a brief to their documentary film, was:
Who are the people who help us reconnect with the land, communities, and beings around us?
Who are the people who are connectors of our system, the people whose presence resyncs us to ourselves, each other, and the land, in ways that we are often unaware?
Each team had 4 weeks of pre-production, 3 weeks of production and 5 weeks of post-production time to find, interview, and film a protagonist of their choice and create a short documentary film. Some of these are still “work-in-progress”—however, all of them are celebrations of their collaborative work, and earnest attempts at honoring the people they encountered, and the stories shared by them.
THE FESTIVAL
To share these stories in a way that encourages slow viewing, we decided to showcase them in a private site, where you can take your time watching them, without distractions. To enter the festival, please register at this link: https://bit.ly/3rBSgrp
Once registered, we will send you the password to the private site in the confirmation email.
The RESYNC films will be screened at this site until November 10, 2022.
The School of Slow Media depends on grants and support from individuals to continue its activities. SoSM is a project of TÁPI Story, a Human-Centered Storytelling production and consultancy.
